Lacrosse Ball Self Massage For Sore Muscles!

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Lacrosse has really started to catch on in Louisiana. An awesome fringe benefit of this is a large supply of lacrosse balls!

Lacrosse balls are perfect for managing muscle pain and trigger points at home. As a chiropractor my goal is getting my patients back in the game as quick as possible. To do this I’ll usually give home exercises, stretches, and self management tools. The lacrosse ball, at 3 bucks, is an awesome tool that most patients can use at home after a few minutes of instruction. This can help speed your recovery, minimize lost days from sport or work and give you a tool for self care in the future!

To use the lacrosse ball simply lean up against the wall while holding the lacrosse ball over the sore muscle. Then roll around making small circles until you find the more tender spot in the muscle. Now pin that spot with the ball for 30 seconds to a minute. Congratulations you have treated your first trigger point! Now hunt for the next most tender spot.

If a lacrosse ball is too firm for you, try a tennis ball 🎾

Pro tips

1.Make sure you are staying on the muscles and not rolling over bones!

2. If you have a history of blood clots or are taking blood thinners this is not a treatment you should try.

3.When in doubt ask me or your doctor if this self massage is safe for you!

We are located on the second floor of Bellaire Fitness in South Bossier. Please enter the gym door facing Barksdale BLVD. We will be seeing patients on Wednesday afternoon from 12-5:30 and Saturday morning from 9-12.

Our special for the month of March will be a free new patient exam ($100 value!). 🙌🏼

We will take medicare, personal injury, HSA, workers compensation, and self pay. Invoices can be provided at request if you wish to send your claim into health insurance for reimbursement.

MEDICARE ALERT 🚨

If you have Medicare you are not eligible for the free exam due to federal law. After the initial exam you will have a small co-pay each visit for the adjustment. Medicare only covers spinal adjustments for the treatment of pain.

Now is the time to get in the books while we still have space and the exam is free. Any treatment will be at the normal rate. Just click on the book now button on our Facebook page or the website and pick your time!

We look forward to providing top notch chiro care!
